Many people fly into the city of Rome with the intention of exploring the main islands of the region, Capri, Capri, and Tuscany. Start in Sorrento
The city of Sorrento is certainly a prime destination and can be a great starting point for a bus trip to the Amalfi Coast. sorrento is a beautiful coastal city that played an important role in the Survival Opium of the Italians. As you approach the city of Pisa, you will pass by the Val di Noto, or the Val d’Oro, an enormous gorge that slices through the city of Pisa in two. Designed by Giotto, this eighteenth century gorge was a focal point of the city for nearly four centuries.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa
The Leaning Tower of Pisa is another famous attraction located in the heart of the city of Pisa. Built in the mid twenties and designed by Giorgione, the tower is teeter totter and its design makes it appear to be swaying. The tower is certificate gold for its slope which is eleven degrees. The tower is a fine example of the architecture and engineering prowess of the time. There is a memorial now dedicated to the victims of the tragedy and thousands flock to the tower each year to pay their respects.
The Duomo or the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Pisa
Designed by Brunelleschi, the cathedral was consecrated in the year 1290 and it is known as the Cathedral of Santa Maria de Pisa. The famous Duomo or Cathedral of Santa Maria de Pisa is a Roman Gothic building. The dome itself was designed by Pisano and built in the year 1490. The cathedral is also certificate gold for its towering height.

Historic Paths
The Duomo di Monreale is a must see for history buffs. Built in the middle of the 14th century, the cathedral is the most famous of the Renaissance buildings in Pisa. You can explore theymesurgentarium, the ancient baths, the Gardens of the Ambrosia, and the convent of St. Francis Zambri. Don’t forget to check out the museum preserved in the old monastery, hidden by medieval walls.
The Pantheon is the next stop if you like architecture. Built in the mid 14th century, the building is impressive for its size and for its architecture.
Explore the Pantheon
Many people don’t realise that the best preserved fountains of ancient Rome are in the city of Pisa. Built in the 1st century AD, many of these enormous waterfalls look like they were right out of the movies. The tops are covered in gold and sparkling jewels. If you want to see them first hand, make your way to the enchanting Fonte della Vela. From the top you have a stunning view of the city and you can also take in the breath-taking views of the various Cosmedes.
Once you’ve had your fill of ancient history, head down to the piazza where in front of you can see the Temple of Saturn, the Flavian Amphitheatre and the Monument of Aeneas. The Colosseum is the home of the thearate, or free-standing artificial volcano which happens to be the largest in the world.
